Abstract in the main table

Hi! I would like to show in the results table only an abstract of results, since I have some fields containing an awful lot of information. I need to show the whole field only in details page. How is it possible?
(I apologize for my english, I hope you understand...)

At the moment you can't, unless you want to modify the function build_results_table() in /include/business_logic.php
